About Age UK Cambridgeshire
Age UK Cambridgeshire exists to promote the well being of older people and help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
We are an independent charity, responsible for managing our own affairs and for our own fundraising. We are full members of the Age UK Federation, that links Age Concern organisations nationally.

We listen to older people and make sure they and their views are heard by decision makers and planners.
Who is in charge?
The Board of Trustees is responsible for overall management. They are responsible for making sure that we are run properly and legally and for setting the policy and strategic direction of the organisation. The Board of Trustees delegates day to day running of the organisation to the Chief Executive who is responsible for the management of the staff and 250 volunteers who provide the services.
Involving users
The users of our services are central to the organisation. We have a Countywide Liaison Committee that has recently been reorganised to better represent older people and statutory and voluntary bodies from all areas of the county. The Liaison Committee supports the work of the charity by helping us to understand the needs of older people in the county.
Staff
The Charity employs around 70 staff, including home helps.
Volunteers
Volunteers play an active role in every part of the organisation, without their contribution, we could not provide support to older people. At the present time 250 volunteers help us in our work in the following areas: administration, fundraising, Day Centres, information, trusteeship and committee work, visiting, advocacy.
